§ 17-76. Connections to sewer system; date for initial payment.

  • Owners or occupants of all houses, lands, buildings and premises thereon which abut on or are within 200 feet of a sanitary sewer main and can use the services and facilities of the sewer system of the city's water and sewer system are hereby subject to the following requirements:

    (a)

    All such owners or occupants are required to pay a monthly charge for sanitary sewer service in accordance with the rates and schedules currently then in effect by the city. The obligation to pay the aforesaid charge shall commence 90 days from the adoption of the resolution accepting the sewer construction improvements by the city pertaining to the subject property, or at the time actual connection is made, whichever first occurs. In the case of structures completed or built after the installation of the sewer line serving the subject premises, the obligation to pay the sewer service charge shall commence on the date of installation of a permanent water meter.

    (b)

    All such owners or occupants are required to connect their plumbing fixtures to the city sewer system within 90 days from the adoption of the resolution accepting the sewer construction improvements by the city pertaining to the subject property.
