§ 2-153. Organization; qualification of members.

  • The art in public places advisory board shall elect a chair and vice-chair to preside at its meeting, and shall, within 6 months of its first meeting formulate its rules and regulations for the conduct of its business and for the approval of artwork for review by the city attorney and approval by the city council. The board shall meet at least once each calendar quarter, and may meet more often on a regular basis, which dates shall be established by its members on an annual basis. The board may hold special meetings at the direction of its chair or upon the request of 3 members upon not less than 24-hour notice.

    The members of the board shall have the following qualifications:

    (1)

    Each member must be a resident of the city or work in the city.

    (2)

    Seats on the board must be filled by individuals with knowledge, experience or an interest in public art.

    (3)

    No member may be the artist, provide the artwork, provide consulting services, or have any interest in any artwork to be reviewed by the board.
