§ 2-422. Powers and duties of fire chief.

  • The fire chief shall have the powers, duties and responsibilities to:

    (a)

    Plan, develop and promulgate programs for fire prevention, fire suppression and emergency rescue independently and in cooperation with other governmental agencies.

    (b)

    Administer and enforce the fire prevention code of the city for the protection of lives and property.

    (c)

    Provide continuing training for the promotion of higher efficiency, discipline and morale in the matters of fire prevention, fire suppression and emergency rescue.

    (d)

    Perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the city manager or ordinance.
